The TTL camera metering will take care of the roughly

1.5 stops lost through the filter... It is useful for

reducing some types of distinct reflections (as on

glass or water), and for reducing diffuse reflections,

resulting in more saturated color (and darker sky tone)

at some angles. Drawbacks: with wide-angles, the effect

can be annoyingly uneven; removing reflections can reduce

"sparkle" in images; the resultant color can look

"un-natural"...
