This is
unusual with Sony camcorders (they generally do not very
prominently
record the "whine" of the very fast rotating head drum
in DV
camcorders), unless you are shooting near a large hard
surface
that reflects the camera's noise (small room interior, for
instance).
Check also where you have your hand relative to the
microphone
- you may be guiding the camera noise to the mic, or
obstructing
the mic (easy to do on these small camcorders). If you
always
hear this noise under all shooting conditions and with
attempts
to avoid worsening it, I would try to exchange the
camcorder
for a replacement...
