The yellow line marks the area to be rendered or to be exported. It can also

be useful if you want to repeatedly play a short section for checking - just

keep hitting the "enter" key after setting the line over the area of interest...

Also, if you want to move rapidly around the timeline, or jump to a particular

point, move the green area of the "Navigator" window (it includes the area

under the yellow bar), or click on a position on the timeline in the Navigator

to instantly jump to a particular location. The Navigator makes it VERY

easy to "navigate" the timeline, and also to check what is on various tracks

(and to find "orphan" bits that can cause problems).
