If all is optimized (note the "if"!!!), you can do

NLE DV-editing with a single drive, but this can

result in problems if all does not remain optimized

(though using a fast RAID can delay problems [as

from disk fragmentation...]); better, a partition of

the single drive - but this is not as good a solution

as using a separate video-files drive. I prefer to

go further and use multiple video-file drives so I

can read from one and write to another - and I use

a separate drive for rendered parts (these act as

video files when exporting the video...). If you are

willing to maintain the drives in optimum condition

while working, minimal resources are needed; if you

just want reliability, use multiple drives (big drives

are cheap these days, and easy to install...)....
