That is correct. This translates into 540 TV lines horizontal

resolution maximum regardless of what comes before it in

terms of pixel-count, optics-quality, electronics, etc., BUT:

improving what comes before this last "step" does affect the

final image quality...

This does not necessarily follow, since the quality of the

image does not translate this simply from pixel-count of

the sensor to the output resolution limit - there is much more

involved...
