Ah, Tiffen..... You may want to check the Tiffen filter for
fog - these tend to "self-fog" in a relatively
short time
(mysterious - no other filters I've used but Tiffen do this)
and require cleaning before use every few weeks or they
diffuse the image. A clean, good filter will normally, under
most conditions, have no ill effect on the image when
used in front of a lens, "contrary to popular
opinion"...;-)
