Liquid cleaners, NEVER applied directly to a lens, but
only to a clean tissue, "Q-Tip", etc., if without
silicone or
grit, will not hurt lenses, and serve to lubricate the
surface while you clean. Finish with breath directed upward,
with the fog removed with clean tissue, etc.

No need to remove a good clean filter when shooting most
things - there is no observable effect on the image unless
bright, small light sources are in front of the lens,
especially with dark surroundings...
