Hi--
With the TRV30, try turning off the stabilizer, then aiming
the camera,
then locking the exposure in manual mode, then turning the
stabilizer
back on (this gives you about 2/3rd stop lower light level
coverage
with the same color quality, or a bit higher color quality
at a given
light level - it uses 1/60th second shutter speed instead of
1/100th).
Try also (instead) switching to portrait mode (two heads in
circle) - this
can improve color in lowest light (as can intentional
underexposure, with
correction later - if you are at +18db gain, underexposing
1/2 stop in manual
will improve color considerably). Also try adding an 80C gel
or glass filter
and/or switching to tungsten light preset to add blue. If
you can accept a
B&W image, the camera is much more sensitive in
"Nightshot" mode (not
"super-nightshot", which uses 1/4 second shutter),
and looks good in B&W
mode - though skin-tone can be a bit odd. Perhaps one or a
combination of
some of these will help... The cameras that can produce
better color in low
light are, unfortunately, lower resolution, so are harder to
print.
