If
low-light range is not an issue, I would look at the Sony TRV33 ($800 list?).
The
picture is quite sharp (but with less motion-artifacting than is usual for
a sharp
1-CCD picture), with excellent color. The camera is also quite small,
if that
is of value to you. Footage mported with a FireWire card and
MPEG2-encoded
with a good encoder (Sonic's MyDVD and Ulead's Video
Studio
6, with best-quality selected), the results should look quite good...
