The VX2000 also shows this effect - but it turns out not
to be an electrical problem but a mechanical one. When I
physically better-isolate my Sennheiser MKE-300 by removing
it from the shoe, or by placing a vibration-isolator between
it and the shoe, the "hum" goes away. BTW, you can
feel
this "hum" as a faint vibration while holding the
camera
while it is in "camera" mode with tape in...
[was the PD100A adapter box used...?]
