One piece of advice is to get one with an AI (auto-indexing) Photomic,

To
clarify: both the AI *and* non-AI finders will fit and
meter
all *reflex* Nikkors except the "G" series. With the
AI
finder, the meter AI clip needs to be swung up with non-AI
lenses
and stop-down metering used; with the non-AI finder,
the
meter needs to be set for stop-down metering before the
lens is
mounted - about equally "un-difficult" (and the meters/lenses
can be
made so that all use stop-down metering, simplifying
things
with mixed lenses and giving potentially more accurate
metering...).
