I bought each of my three Mini-Disk recorders as "returns"

for about $120 each at Sears, and I use Azden omni lav

mics with them, $25 each from Azden or B&H (these are

smooth, but need EQ tilting the high end up during editing).

Radio Shack also has some decent cheap lav mics...
