You will notice a softer image wider than about f5.6 (so why get

a fast lens...?), and much more flare. The Nikkor you have is a

better lens. If you need more range, find a good sample of the

Nikkor 28-105 or 24-120 - and use this also at stops smaller

than f5.6...
