With no coating, the filter should be colorless,

unless the color serves a purpose (for the filter type) -

and no slight compensation for the lack of coating will

make any difference there, or to transmission (which is

FAR less important than reflection, which is very moderate

even in an uncoated filter...;-) My main complaints about

Tiffen are not the lack of coating, but the "self-fogging"

effect (odd, but I have observed this for years with

different eras of Tiffen filters - after about 3-6 months,

a uniform fogging needs to be cleaned off, whether the

filter is in any kind of box, or on a lens...), and the poor rims...
