Hmmm... A lot of hooey gets written - don't believe it

all. ;-) The lens in the VX1000 was a good one - and

likely all glass, in a plastic mount - but if not, who cares?

Many expensive lenses for 35mm are now made with plastic

molded aspherics to save cost, and there is little if any

downside to this construction technique - and it is FAR

cheaper than trying to grind aspherics made of glass...
