The Canon
1-chippers I've seen tend to have a reddish picture with
very
high contrast (and a bit of motor noise in the audio) and not
outstanding
image sharpness; the Sony TRV33 picture has excellent,
neutral
color, very good sharpness, and minimal (for a good-resolution
1-chipper)
motion-artifacting. Contrast is high (though moderate
compared
with the Canons) and low-light range is very limited (the
TRV19/22
are better here, as are some Canons, but at the expense
of
good-light picture quality). Other than the miserable touch-screen
controls,
I think the TRV33 is a "gem" (but I wish I had grabbed
the
similar TRV27 when it was available - it had the better
button/wheel
system for changing settings).
