The low-light *range* of the TRV11/17/18 is a bit

greater, given its larger CCD and lower pixel-count

compared with the TRV25/27, but the *image quality*

in terms of image-sharpness, color-quality, and image

smoothness at the (higher) lower limit of the TRV25/27

favors it (and the fairly conservative pixel-count

appears to minimize somewhat the motion-artifacting

seen on higher pixel count models...). I often

recommend the TRV11/17/18-PC9 for casual shooters who

might prefer a "pleasant" image, and the higher pixel

count 1-chippers for those preferring a sharper image

with slightly better color (but with more annoying

artifacting in contrasty lighting, and a little less

low-light range. Best is a good 3-chipper, but these

are generally more expensive, and larger/heavier...
