In the
short term, the results are identical. The EX is rated for
2db
more signal/noise, but this is unlikely to matter in digital
unless/until
the signal is becoming marginally readable (long-term
or poor
storage). I use EX for mastering; PR is OK (or much
more...)
for single-use - and in 80-minute lengths, only PR is
available
in the US. Forget the chip in the EX - buy it without
and
save money.
(BTW, I
prefer not to mix tape brands, to avoid the possibility
of
head-clogging problems from mixing lubricants.)
