Both the VX2000 and GL2 good cameras (along with the
Panasonic DVX100 and JVC GY300 - and Sony TRV950
in good light), with
excellent good-light pictures. The
VX2000 goes to a bit lower light level with a
still-smooth picture, and I slightly prefer its
good-light picture - and it is more of a "known
quantity" for reliability, tape-compatibility, etc.
(for more, see:
www.David-Ruether-Photography.com/sony_dcr-vx2000.htm]), but
all of these are good enough now to almost go on
price, "feel", control-layout and operational
particulars, etc. Avoid the ad and magazine-review
"hype" and look carefully at user comments/reviews
(as it appears you are doing), and if possible,
compare them yourself...
