That is correct, especially in low light, though the

GL2 is an excellent camera (and a big improvement over

earlier Canon offerings). Canon promotion/marketing is

excellent, and Canon products sell, regardless of relative

quality of the product (which is good in this case, unlike

for most of their other camcorders...;-). Also, for many

consumers (and all magazine reviewers...;-), "newer =

better", regardless of reality...
