The
simplest thing to do is try shooting with the camera and see if
the
sound is OK (very likely, since the other end of the cable was
connected
to the TV *input*, which would very likely have no
signal
on it...). It is unlikely that the AV cable would physically
damage
the mic input jack though it is possible, since it is a bit
different
- but recording through the camera's mic will likely tell
you if
there was physical damage. If you have proper stereo
sound
using the camera's mic in recorded video, it is VERY
unlikely
that any damage occurred...
