Yes! Among 5 different Sony imaging types (three

1-CCD, two 3-CCD, with differences among the 1-CCD

pixel-counts - see:

you can see considerable differences, with the

highest-pixel-count 1-CCD images (in bright light

only) approaching 3-CCD quality in the *still*

frame-grabs (but in motion, the artifacting with

the high-pixel-count 1-CCD video is annoyingly

obvious; the 3-CCD and lowest-pixel-count 1-CCD

images are *relatively* freer of annoying

motion-artifacting). Even the best 1-CCD images

in still frames show inferior color and tonality

compared with good 3-CCD images, and in motion,

there is no contest. This does not mean that good

video cannot be shot with 1-CCD cameras, but the

lighting conditions under which good image quality

can be had are more limited than with good 3-CCD

cameras...
