Trip to the South Western US

May - June  2005

SEDONA, ARIZONA

This rather upscale town (an understatement!) has natural features worthy of a national monument or even park. Unusual for a red-rock area is a road entrance down a shady deciduous-forested canyon with a stream. This is a place for those who enjoy both natural features and interesting shopping. Our Motel had a second level balcony with a view of a red-rock feature which we watched as the sun went down. The bathroom in our motel was rather impressively large, being about the size of a medium-sized living room (very different from the one at GC North Rim…!). From here, it was an easy drive to the south rim of Grand Canyon National Park.
